RADIO NOMAD

Hmmm...Radio

 So i totally love...love  the radio and that's why in school I got involved with 103.1 Shine fm, first as a  news anchor then a become a presenter and alas am now the programming manager. A big task i know but i carry it out with utter grace and of course with a big smile because its something am passionate about.

So being a 'radio geek' makes me a 'radio nomad' by default. If ur not aware of this species well lemmie introduce u to one ME!

QUALITIES THAT MAKE ONE A RADIO NOMAD:

1. Ability to listen to multiple radio stations at once and can correctly tell u what each was talking about,their music etc

2. Is always comparing one radio station to another.

3. Is always saying remarks such as omg i love that promo

4. Is always writing down ideas for a show or promo.

5. Has an ear for good music can tell u what will be a hit or a miss_and they are always right!

So with th e above qualities clearly laid out, you now understand when I say that I am a  radio nomad.

So while roaming aimlessly through the airwave desert i stumbled upon an oasis.

It was like one I had never tasted before. The water was so sweet so refreshing and utterly satisfying.

The oasis my friends was the boldest breakfast show yet: THE RUDE AWAKENING ON 105.5 XFM WITH FAREED KHIMANI!

OMG I have to  quote jeff koinange hear, 'what a presenter,what a show,they say the stupidest  things  on air  but will still get you  smiling, and u cant find that anywhere else than on Radio Africa's 105.5 ...... Xfm.


Guys lemmie tell you, Fareed is one of the most absurd,  out of this world people who will make u exclaim 'i-dont-believe-u-just-said -that' every 5mins. He is outspoken says whatever crazy thing that pops into his mind with know apologies at all! None whatsoever.   

Fareed Khimani : Rude Awakening on 105.5 XFm 6am- 10am

                                                

Although Radio Africa has a track record of repeating songs over and over again(clearly evident through kissfm and classic 105) Fareed will make  every rock song you know sound like a hit every time you hear it. And for that I give him props. Awesome stuff man.

He also includes in his morning show,  a segment called 'news from around the world' and here he tells you about the celebrity and entertainment while he makes random spontaneous jokes about them(sometimes not funny but i laugh coz of the effort he put in).

His show is really fresh and am even suprised to say this, but i kinda learn a few things here and there from him. Oh and he also has a segment 'quarter past laughter' where he plays short clips of stand up comedies which always make  my day!

All i can say to Fareed Khimani is asante, for making me grab my ear phones and tune in to Xfm as soon as i wake up.

Though a nomad still remains a nomad i still migrate around the airwaves looking for something,         I dont know what  but something. Kudos .... kudos to the Rude Awakening for always drawing me back.
